Yesterday I attended an afternoon showing of the Chronicles of Narnia. Good movie. It lacks a certain "epic" quality, largely I think due to the recent saturation of movies that are "epic." It tells a great story, and it does it very well. "Lucy" is by far the scene stealing star. Aslan is well done, but could have used a little more development - and perhaps a little more gravity to the character. I'm sure there was some consideration given to the fact that this is a children's story, and as such it tones down some of the possible intensity.
We had almost 200 people from our church there, and this weekend we are starting a series on the movie. It will be interesting to see how people respond.
