I was on the fence for a while about the iPhone. I wanted one, but there were some major concerns that I had. I'm not a fan of AT&T for one. I'm also not wild about the EDGE wireless internet limitations. Of course, there's also the $400 cost.
But I've really had enough with Sprint. We have had a love/hate relationship for quite a while now. In fact, I think I have been a Sprint customer for well over 7 years (including my Nextel phones). But my contract came up this month, and my phone had been dropped so many times that it didn't even connect half the times when I answered it.
Beth knew how much I wanted one, and gave me the go-ahead to get one! (Thank you beautiful!!). It didn't help that an increasing number of friends/family now had them, so for someone who is always the early-adopter, I was definitely feeling late to the party.
I've been using it since Monday, and I can honestly say that I completely LOVE it. Is the EDGE network seriously slow compared to SPRINT? absolutely. And there will probably be quirks that irritate me, but it is not an exaggeration at all to say that it is the best cell phone every built. It really is. Seriously... it is.
What I love:
1. The Phone itself. It's pretty intuitive to use.
2. The interface. Apart from being the most beautiful interface I've ever used, it's incredibly simple. That makes it very easy to use. It doesn't slow me down.
3. The iPod. I have had quite a few iPods over the years, and I love this one. Watching a video on this on a long plane flight is way better than on my previous iPod video.
4. The Photos. It makes a great portable portfolio. Everyone wants to look at it, so I show them my photos. It's just awesome.
5. The internet/mail. I know some people have some problems with corporate email. Bummer for them. I seriously don't even need to carry my laptop with me half the time. I can get my mail, reply, find things online and do pretty much everything non-editing related right on the iPhone.
Sure, some have found it's faults. But for me, it's my favorite thing right now!
